Peddling To Make Electricity
During the first week of January, Clay-Union Electric’s Jackie Williams and East River Electric’s Jennifer Gross had the opportunity to visit the 5th-grade classrooms at Vermillion Elementary, St. Agnes, and Gayville-Volin to present Co-ops in the Classroom.
The Co-ops in the Classroom program teaches students about electricity through hands-on, interactive lessons. Students explore the difference between man-made and naturally occurring electricity, learn how power is delivered to their homes, and—most importantly—discover how to stay safe around overhead and underground power lines.
